As Constable Powers approached the intersection of Grand Bay Wilmer and Dawes Road at approximately 4:25PM headed north bound on Grand Bay Wilmer. Grand Bay Constables Extinguish Fire.

1/30/2022

Constable Floyes of Precinct 85 & Constable Powers of Precinct 73 were enjoying a day of fishing with Constable Floyes' son D. Floyes III. at Warren Creek, when Floyes' son noticed a fire just on the other bank of the creek around approximately 1:50PM. Constable Floyes immediately went to investigate as Constable Powers stayed to watch Floyes III. To his dismay a fire was erupting in a field on the west side of Warren Creek bridge. He immediately called for fire services and relayed the positive confirmation of a fire to Constable Powers. Constable Powers called into 911 informing the dispatch of the fires progress. After about ten minutes and no fire trucks in site, they knew something had to be done to help prevent a major spread of the fire and possible tragedy to both property and residents. Floyes and Powers sprang into action trying to extinguish the fire. They were assisted by a brave neighbor Tom Peters, in the efforts to save a house that was in the fires direct path of destruction. Powers stated that the fire would reach heights of up to about seven to ten feet when the wind blew, but would subside to about a foot or so when the wind passed. That was their chance to use their boots and a piece of tin to stomp out the flames. They continued the efforts forming a line and eventually extinguished and contained the fire to a small patch of woods just behind the point of the fires origin. Due to a miscommunication about another fire just down the road, the fire department was not on scene until about 45 minutes after the blaze began. Luckily, a day of fishing put the Grand Bay Constables in the right place at the right time to help the community once again and prevent any major damage or loss. "We want to send a special thanks to Mr. Peters for his bravery in helping us control the fire." stated the Constables. No known cause for the start of the fire could be found at the time of this article.

Grand Bay Constables Help Catch Bank Fraudsters

4/25/2022

The Constables of Grand Bay do it again. Another case of being at the right place at the right time. Constable Powers was just going about his day off and running errands. While visiting a local Mobile bank for services, he noticed an agitated individual in the facility. A teller slipped a note that the suspect was in the process of an illegal transaction. Constable Powers finished his business in the bank and walked slowly toward the exit. As he did the suspect followed closely behind him. He quickly jumped into Constable Floyes patrol vehicle and told him about the situation. They performed a blocking maneuver to keep the individuals from fleeing the scene. Mobile PD quickly swooped in and took over the arrest of three individuals involved in the incident.
